In my opinion, the best guardians that comes to mind would involve guardian angels or spirit guides as people believe they have one or the other protecting them in their times of need. I believe that we generally have both looking out for us personally, but they all serve different functions and have different priorities, as such guardian angels serve you in terms of protection and to remind you of accomplishing your life's mission, while spirit guides are there to protect you and help you on an emotional level as they are more empathetic than angels.

Guardian angels are associated with any form of Christianity and are probably more well known compared to spirit guides as people usually have an idea that everyone has their own personal guardian angel whose mission is to look out for you in times of need. When it comes to experiencing contact with an angel's actions, either directly or indirectly, the worst thing you could do is become afraid (understandable tho) or lie to them if they ask you anything. Spirit guides are generally there for you and would be attached to you on a personal level as they could be loving family members who have looked after you through aspects of your life. They send signs to you directly talking to you (sign for this involves ears ringing at random times, or if you are doing something stupid) through dreams of said family members, or send messages through other people (I have personally experienced this where I met with two acquaintances of mine who told me the same piece of information that would help with my situation at the time, and they have never met each other). Be wary though, as some spirits might not always have the best intentions for you. After all, spirit guides were once human.
When it comes to processing such experiences from Spirit Guides, you should take into account your personal relationship with said deceased family members, whether it be you were close or did not get along, or if you knew them at all. Should they be deemed as trustworthy, or if the signs you receive point you into safe and healthy growing situations then you should be reassured that your guides want what's best for you. Generally speaking, spirit guides are around you when you need to be pointed in the right direction, need emotional support, or if they really need to tell you something directly through dreams.

For the most part, you should take these signs into consideration when you get vivid dreams, start to notice ads related to your situation, or if you have any signs of doubt about your recent decision-making.
